Biography
South African DJ and vinyl selector Abby Nurock has spent over two decades carving out a reputation as one of the country’s most respected and versatile electronic music artists. Her journey began in 2002 with a pair of treasured Technics SL/1210 turntables, igniting a lifelong dedication to analogue culture and the art of DJing.
Deeply influenced by early Chicago and Detroit House, 80s electronica, disco, jazz, and classical music, Abby’s sound is both timeless and forward thinking. Renowned for seamless blends and impeccable music selection, she moves effortlessly between house, disco, acid, techno, and electronic grooves, creating sets that are dynamic, emotional, and deeply dancefloor focused.

Over the years, Abby has built a loyal global following through club residencies, radio shows, and standout performances at internationally respected events including Secret Garden Party, Lighthouse Festival, Ultra Resistance, Defected showcases, The Soundgarden, Wolfkop, and Bazique. She has shared stages with artists including Bonobo, Monolink, Black Coffee, and Adam Beyer.
Beyond the booth, Abby co directs SAMP Records (South African Music Press), a platform dedicated to vinyl pressing, licensing, and distribution aimed at elevating South African vinyl culture globally.
