New Year’s Eve takes over Black River Park with the return of Secrets of Summer NYE, bringing 14,000 festival-goers, more than 40 artists and three dance floors together for one of Cape Town’s biggest New Year’s Eve music events. Running from sunset through to 03:30, the festival combines international DJs, leading South African artists, live performers and large-scale audiovisual production across a sprawling 25,000-square-metre outdoor venue.
The 2026 edition promises the biggest Secrets of Summer production yet, with a larger main stage, immersive lighting, special effects and a 6D audiovisual experience building towards the midnight countdown. With fireworks, music and a major production sequence planned for midnight, the focus is firmly on creating a high-energy New Year’s Eve celebration from the moment the gates open until the final track.
