Biography

Lee Burridge is a globally respected DJ whose journey through electronic music spans four decades, countless dance floors, and an unmistakably human approach to DJing. Beginning his career in 1984 playing weddings and birthday parties, Burridge’s early exposure to pop and synth music laid the foundation for a lifelong obsession with rhythm, emotion, and connection.

“I don’t know what kind of music I play, I just know how it should feel.”

After discovering house music in the late ’80s, Burridge immersed himself in underground culture, eventually relocating from the UK to Hong Kong in 1991, where he helped cultivate a then-nonexistent dance music scene. During this period, he also became a fixture at Thailand’s legendary Full Moon Parties, contributing to the spread of electronic music across Asia in its formative years.

Returning to the UK in 1997, Burridge teamed up with Craig Richards and Sasha for the influential Tyrant parties, releasing iconic mix compilations and cementing his reputation as a selector with rare emotional intuition. His acclaimed mix CDs for Global Underground, Balance, and Tyrant remain touchstones for melodic and progressive club music.

A regular at major festivals including Coachella, Creamfields, Exit, Love Parade, and Notting Hill Carnival, Burridge is equally at home in intimate after-hours settings, often DJing well beyond sunrise. In 2005, he launched the forward-thinking 365 project, a year-long exploration of music and travel that helped redefine what it meant to be a global DJ.

Unconcerned with trends, technology, or categorisation, Lee Burridge continues to focus on feeling over format, earning him enduring respect, high rankings across DJ Mag and Resident Advisor, and a legacy built on curiosity, warmth, and authenticity.
