Polokwane [South Africa]

Biography

Da Capo is the stage name of Nicodimas Sekheta Mogashoa, a leading South African DJ, producer, and musician celebrated for his refined contributions to Afro-house, Afro-tech, and deep house music. Born on 9 June 1992 in Seshego, Polokwane, Da Capo’s musical journey began at a young age, initially exploring rap before discovering a deeper connection to house music and electronic production.

“Da Capo’s sound is rooted in African rhythm, emotion, and forward-thinking production.”

His rise to prominence followed his acclaimed remix of Moneoa’s “Pretty Disaster,” which captured industry attention and led to a record deal with Soulstic Music. In 2017, Da Capo released his debut studio album Indigo Child, a landmark project in South African electronic music. The album achieved double platinum certification from RiSA and featured collaborations with respected artists including GoodLuck, Berita, Wanda Baloyi, and Jackie Queens. With more than 36.5 million streams, Indigo Child established Da Capo as a defining voice in modern Afro-house.

Known for his musical depth and evolving sonic identity, Da Capo continues to push boundaries with carefully crafted releases such as “Found You,” “Afrikaans,” “Better,” “Soze,” and “Mama Kosa.” In 2025, he is set to release Indigo Child II, a highly anticipated album expected to expand his global influence and further refine his signature blend of African rhythm, electronic sophistication, and emotional storytelling.
