Introduction

Cape Town gets the first stop of Yamatai Records’ South African debut, with the UK drum & bass imprint bringing its sound to Roxy Woodstock on 2 October 2026. Hosted by System of Synergy, the event forms part of a two-date South African run, followed by a Johannesburg show on 3 October. Yamatai arrives in South Africa celebrating five years of the label, which has been recognised as a Beatport Label of the Month and has released two number one records. For Cape Town drum & bass fans, the night offers a focused introduction to the label’s darker, heavier side, spanning neuro, halftime and other bass-driven sounds.

Artists & Lineup

The international lineup is led by LEKS and ILLUSIVE, with System of Synergy residents providing local support. The programming centres on dark drum & bass, neuro and halftime, with the broader bill also incorporating dubstep and garage / bassline influences. The official event information describes the music as ranging from 85 to 175 BPM, giving an indication of the broad rhythmic territory covered across the night. The event is part of Yamatai Records’ first South African run, making the Cape Town date particularly relevant for listeners interested in the UK label and its bass-heavy sound.

✅ The listed age policy is 18+.
✅ Check the official ticket page before travelling for any updated venue or timing information.

Is This Event for You?

If your idea of a good night involves dark drum & bass, neuro, halftime and serious bass pressure, Yamatai is worth putting on the radar. It should particularly appeal to listeners who enjoy following underground labels and discovering international artists outside the usual mainstream festival circuit. The event is less suited to anyone looking for a broad multi-genre festival or daytime experience. With Yamatai making its first South African appearance and System of Synergy hosting the Cape Town date, this is a focused night for bass music heads who want to explore a UK label making its mark locally.
