Beyond the Mountain NYE Festival returns for another immersive three-day New Year’s Eve celebration, bringing together music, art, nature, and community in the breathtaking landscapes of Swellendam. Set at the lush Utopia venue, this boutique electronic music festival invites festival-goers to disconnect from the chaos of everyday life and step into a carefully curated world of sound, creativity, and connection as they welcome in 2027 beneath the stars.

Known for its artistic vision and transformative atmosphere, Beyond the Mountain combines world-class stage design, cutting-edge electronic music, and stunning natural surroundings to create one of South Africa’s most unique New Year festival experiences. This year’s stages and installations are designed by internationally renowned Berlin-based artist Florian Goerlitz, whose work has appeared at legendary festivals including Boom Festival, Feel Festival, and Monegros Festival.

Artists & Lineup

Beyond the Mountain NYE Festival 2026 features a carefully curated multi-genre electronic music experience across two immersive dance floors. Full lineup details are still to be announced, but festival-goers can expect a journey through psychedelic soundscapes, house grooves, techno rhythms, and underground electronic music from a blend of international and local artists.

At The Mothership, dancers will experience deep psychedelic journeys with non-stop psytrance music carrying through the New Year transition. Meanwhile, Gaia’s Garden delivers house, techno, and genre-blending electronic sounds in a lush riverside setting designed for movement, connection, and exploration.
