Circadian
Biography
Circadian is the electrifying solo project of UK producer and DJ Chris Garvey, marking a bold new chapter in an already formidable career. Launched in May 2023, the project has rapidly positioned Circadian as one of the most exciting and in-demand names in modern drum and bass, showcasing Garvey’s full creative range with renewed freedom and intensity.
Born in London, Garvey began DJing at just 16 years old, quickly developing a deep connection to drum and bass culture before moving into production. His rise to prominence came as one half of The Prototypes, the globally celebrated duo formed with Nick White in 2010. Together, they became synonymous with stadium-sized D&B anthems such as Pale Blue Dot, Electric, Kill The Silence, and Reason (feat. Lowes), releasing two studio albums and touring the world with appearances at Glastonbury, Tomorrowland, and EDC Las Vegas.
With Circadian, Garvey channels what he describes as “the yin and yang of rave culture” — balancing raw dancefloor energy with emotional depth and modern sound design. In just over a year, the project has delivered a string of standout releases supported by Andy C, Sub Focus, Friction, Dimension, and Netsky, alongside high-profile collaborations with Koven, Dirtyphonics, and SOTA, and remixes for Basement Jaxx and Friction.
“Circadian is the balance of rave culture, light and dark, chaos and control, energy and emotion.”
Releases on Monstercat, Elevate Records, and Sleepless Music, as well as placements in global titles such as Fortnite and Rocket League, underline the project’s crossover appeal and cultural impact. While exploring fresh sonic territory, Circadian remains firmly rooted in the drum and bass sound and ethos that has defined Garvey’s career for decades.
With major bookings and releases lined up and momentum continuing to build at pace, Circadian is not just a new alias, it’s a powerful evolution, and one of the most exciting forces shaping the future of drum and bass.
