Introduction

Wild Whale Festival 2026 brings five days of summer music and New Year’s celebrations to Hermanus, turning one of South Africa’s best-known coastal destinations into a festival playground from 28 December through to 1 January. The festival combines electronic music, sunset sessions, beachside energy and New Year’s festivities, with events running each evening from 19:00 to 02:00. Rather than presenting itself as a conventional camping festival, Wild Whale is built around a coastal Hermanus experience, giving festival-goers the opportunity to combine late-night music with everything the town and surrounding Whale Coast have to offer.
