Introduction

Cape Town ravers, Save the Rave is bringing its annual Halloween Masked Ball back for 2026, with international guest DJ Phil Mackintosh from the UK joining the party. Taking place at Botanik Social House in the city centre, this late-night event combines Halloween dress-up with the uplifting sounds and harder-edged electronic music that define the Save the Rave experience.

The event is part of a Cape Town rave series built around community, familiar dancefloor energy and a shared love of electronic music. With the organisers promising a production that builds on last year’s event, this is one for those who would rather spend Halloween dancing than sitting on the sidelines. Masks, music and a night out with fellow ravers are on the agenda.

Artists & Lineup

Save the Rave Halloween takes over three floors at Botanik Social House, each bringing its own flavour to the night. UK DJ Phil Mackintosh headlines The Rave Yard Floor, joined by DJ Nick-O, Jam Jar, Adrian Gemini B2B Karlage, Jason47, Mikey J and Basil.

For those after harder sounds, The Hard House of Horrors Floor features Brent Thought, Synergized M, Lady G B2B Era Styles, Ginetix and Tknoboy. Meanwhile, The Classics Crypt Floor brings Tony Turner, Donzai, Shamiel, Shylo and Barry Cooke together for a trip through the classics.

With three floors covering different corners of rave culture, there’s plenty to explore throughout the night. Whether you’re there for the headliner, the harder sounds or the classics, expect to move between floors and find your own groove.

Venue

Botanik Social House is set in the historic former Land Bank building on Queen Victoria Street in central Cape Town. Dating back to 1938, the building combines period architectural details and high ceilings with a contemporary social space. Its distinctive greenhouse-like feel has also made it a backdrop for electronic music events, bringing together DJs and dancefloors in a setting that feels a little different from a conventional nightclub. For Save the Rave’s Halloween Masked Ball, it provides a city-centre setting for a late-night gathering, with the surrounding Gardens area close by.

Is This Event for You?

Save the Rave Halloween is worth considering if you’re into uplifting trance, energetic electronic music and the more traditional side of rave culture. The addition of UK guest Phil Mackintosh gives local ravers an international artist to look forward to, while the Halloween Masked Ball adds a themed element to the night.

If you’re after a daytime festival, a multi-day camping experience or a lineup spanning lots of different genres, this may not be the right fit. But if a late-night dancefloor, Halloween costumes and a community of fellow ravers sound like your kind of Friday, keep this one on your radar.
