Introduction

Origin Festival returns to Elandskloof Guest Farm from 29 to 31 January 2027 for a weekend centred around psychedelic music, electronic culture, art and community. Around 125km from Cape Town, the festival takes place in a lush mountain valley surrounded by forests, fresh mountain streams and towering peaks. Origin has built its identity around a carefully limited capacity, conscious party culture and a committed audience of psychedelic music and alternative culture fans. Across the weekend, two distinct dancefloors offer contrasting musical journeys, from full-spectrum psychedelic sounds and dubby rhythms to melodic techno and organic deep house.

Artists & Lineup

The 2027 edition features an international lineup including Earthspace, Melting Point, Braincell, Gui Boratto and Starlab, alongside South African artists selected to create a flowing musical journey across the weekend. The Origin Floor is musically curated by Nano Records and moves through psychedelic sounds, with programming running from Friday afternoon through to Sunday afternoon. The Riverside Beats Floor, curated by TenFold, focuses on warm melodic techno and organic deep house, offering a different pace and atmosphere among the trees beside the river.

Venue

Elandskloof Guest Farm sits in a secluded green valley between Villiersdorp and Greyton. The setting combines forest, mountain scenery and fresh mountain water, with the Riverside Beats Floor positioned among the trees alongside the Elandskloof River. The venue is approximately 125km from Cape Town and is accessed partly via a gravel road, making careful driving an important part of the journey.

Event Tips

✅ Gates open at 12:00 on Friday and close at 12:00 on Sunday, with no further entry after closing
✅ Music finishes at 16:00 on Sunday
✅ Festival tickets are available through the official Origin website and FIXR only
✅ There are no tickets available at the gate and no Sunday-only tickets
✅ Camping, hot showers, food stalls and licensed bars are available on site
✅ No fires, glass bottles, pets, independent sound systems, weapons, illegal substances or confetti are permitted
