Introduction

Origin Festival returns to Elandskloof Guest Farm from 29 to 31 January 2027 for a weekend centred around psychedelic music, electronic culture, art and community. Around 125km from Cape Town, the festival takes place in a lush mountain valley surrounded by forests, fresh mountain streams and towering peaks. Origin has built its identity around a carefully limited capacity, conscious party culture and a committed audience of psychedelic music and alternative culture fans. Across the weekend, two distinct dancefloors offer contrasting musical journeys, from full-spectrum psychedelic sounds and dubby rhythms to melodic techno and organic deep house.

Artists & Lineup

The Origin Festival 2027 lineup is still to be announced, so there are no confirmed artists to list just yet. Previous editions have featured a mix of South African and international psychedelic music artists, with the festival also making space for melodic techno and organic deep house on its Riverside Beats floor.

Artists who have appeared at previous Origin editions include names such as Earthspace, Braincell, Gui Boratto, Starlab and Melting Point. These artists are mentioned here as part of Origin’s previous lineups only and have not been announced for the 2027 edition. The full 2027 lineup will be added once officially released by the organisers.

Is This Event for You?

Origin Festival is particularly suited to experienced electronic music and psychedelic culture enthusiasts who enjoy multi-day outdoor festivals, camping and a strong community focus. The two dancefloors offer enough contrast to move between high-energy psychedelic music and more melodic, groove-led electronic sounds. It may be less suited to anyone looking for a large commercial festival, a short one-night event or extensive luxury accommodation directly on the farm. Origin deliberately keeps its capacity limited and places emphasis on the full weekend experience, nature and conscious festival culture.
