At its core, Gaian Dream is a psytrance festival. The international lineup currently includes Perception from Brazil and Ryooky from Japan, with the local lineup still to be announced. That international-local combination has long been an important part of South Africa’s electronic music ecosystem. International artists bring new sounds and perspectives into the local scene, while South African artists continue to develop a scene that has its own distinctive identity.
