Dj Snake

Biography

DJ Snake is a global electronic music powerhouse whose genre-defying sound has reshaped modern dance music. Born William Sami Étienne Grigahcine in Paris to Algerian parents, his rise from underground producer to international icon is driven by fearless creativity and cultural crossover.

He first gained industry recognition for his production work on Lady Gaga’s Born This Way, earning a Grammy nomination before stepping fully into the spotlight as a solo artist. In 2013, “Turn Down for What” with Lil Jon exploded worldwide, becoming a defining crossover trap anthem and launching DJ Snake into global stardom. This momentum continued with “Lean On” alongside Major Lazer and MØ, which became the most-streamed song on Spotify at the time.

“Music has no borders. It’s about energy, culture, and how it makes people move.””

DJ Snake’s debut album Encore (2016) delivered multi-platinum success, led by “Let Me Love You” featuring Justin Bieber. His follow-up album Carte Blanche (2019) further cemented his legacy, featuring global hits like “Taki Taki,” “Magenta Riddim,” and “Loco Contigo,” blending electronic, hip-hop, Latin, and pop influences.

Renowned for monumental live performances, DJ Snake has headlined Coachella, sold out arenas worldwide, and made history as the first artist to perform atop Paris’ Arc de Triomphe. Today, he remains one of electronic music’s most influential and forward-thinking artists.
