7# The World of Psytrance: Green Magic Festival (Tokyo)

The Green Magic Festival is a multicultural festival that takes place every year in the city of Shizuoka , 150 kilometers from the city of Tokyo. The Festival has been going since 2015 and its last event was in 2018 . They also do indoor events, but nothing compares to the incredible landscape of Mount Fuji and the connection to nature that only the outdoor provides us with. Green Magic happens on a farm very close to Mount Fuji . It is open all year round and contains various activities, such as feeding and milking cows and even making cheese from the milk you have made yourself! You can also drive tractors, have ranch experiences, eat barbecue, or simply camp out in front of the grand Fuji . These activities also work during the festival, which makes it so incredible. The festival that takes place in the middle of the ice is called Snow Day Dance.

Contrary to what many people think, it is not as cold there as we imagined. checkout the videos at the end of this article,  Tristan proves this by getting topless behind the decks.

Featured Artists

Brazilian artists Burn in Noise and Altruism have featured, they played in the 2015 and 2017 editions composing a line up filled with national artists and few foreigners. Dickster , Circuit Breakers and Tristan have have also featured also made history there in the past. As we realize, the festival’s organization prefers to have a more local line up, giving more visibility to the people of their nation. It is a tip for the public and the organizers! Value your artists!

Simplicity, Originality and Respect

Another point that caught our attention was the simple, creative and sustainable decoration.  It is worth remembering that the first Goa Trance parties had no stages, because the music does not need to be seen, it needs to be felt! And this is how Green Magic , in addition to being sustainable, becomes simple and original with an organic decoration and without much investment. Less is more. The experience at the Green Magic Festival goes beyond what the eye can see and that makes it so unique and loved by people all over the world!
