Jan Blomqvist
Biography
Berlin based singer, songwriter, producer and live performer Jan Blomqvist has carved out a distinctive space between electronic music and live instrumentation. Known for his deeply melodic sound, introspective vocals and immersive performances, he has become one of the most recognisable artists within the melodic electronic scene.
With roots in grunge and a background playing guitar and drums, Blomqvist eventually found his way into Berlin’s electronic music scene, developing a sound that combines club focused techno and house with singer songwriter arrangements, intricate harmonies and atmospheric textures. His music is emotional without losing its connection to the dancefloor, creating a space where electronic production and live musicianship naturally meet.
“Electronic music can be a very emotional experience. It’s about creating a connection between the music, yourself and the people around you.”
Blomqvist’s reputation as a live performer has taken him to some of the world’s most respected festivals and venues, including multiple appearances at Coachella and Burning Man. With almost 1,000 performances behind him, his live shows have become a defining part of his identity, combining vocals, electronic production and carefully layered instrumentation into an immersive experience.
His catalogue includes collaborations with artists such as Ben Böhmer and Oliver Koletzki, alongside remixes for artists including Claptone and Seal. His third studio album, MUTE, released in 2025 through his own Disconnected label in partnership with Armada Music, explores themes of self reflection, isolation and finding happiness within an increasingly connected world.
In 2024, Blomqvist launched Disconnected, a label focused on the space between deep house, melodic electronic music, vocal house and the energy of live performance. The label reflects his desire to create a home for music that sits between club culture and concert experiences.
With his atmospheric productions, distinctive vocals and powerful live presence, Jan Blomqvist continues to blur the boundaries between electronic music and live performance, creating deeply personal music designed to be both heard and felt.
