5# The World of Psytrance: Sun Festival (Hungary)
We return to Hungary once again to introduce you to SUN Festival which takes place every July & runs for seven days, in Csobánka-puszta located in Nograd. The tickets are limited and its ideology is totally linked to the preservation of mother nature, before, during and after the event. The abbreviation SUN means Solar United Natives and the event is known as the Sun Festival.
It has a very sustainable characteristic and its decorations are very organic, rustic and rich in details.
Another interesting fact is that former members of Ozora festival own part of the SUN crew . Do you remember a video doing the rounds on social media in mid 2014 , when DJ Emok starts playing and the dancefloor that was completely empty suddenly fills with people?
Well, this video is from the second edition of SUN Festival and was recorded after a storm passed through the event, forcing the DJ to put a halt to his set. After the storm had past Emok returned to the stage and quickly the dancefloor surrendered again to the beats of psytrance.

Environmental Education
All the structures built for this festival are all organic and built with willows, they are cheap & also environmentally friendly.
As mentioned earlier, being a festival of the sun, they use solar energy. Solar panel systems are used that provide renewable electricity during the event. SUN Festival also has a community kitchen, providing organic food for the community. The kitchen was built with special materials and has household items that comply with health and safety standards.
Volunteering
An opportunity for those who want to get to know the event is to become a volunteer, helping with tasks such as construction, design and other processes before or during the event. By joining SUN Festival volunteering you will become a member of the community your will receive free entry for the festival and will also be welcomed into the community kitchen.
